NJZ Lighting Will Launch New EX Proof Light With UL844 Approved
Up to now, there is no lighting fixture manufacturer in China can get the UL844 certificate for Class I, Division 1, which means the explosion proof lights can be used in hazardous location or area for North America market.
And things will be changed soon cause NJZ Lighting is now cooperating with UL for the first UL 844 Class I, Division 1 certificate for LED explosion proof lights in China! The experiment is now processing in the UL lab at Taiwan and USA, and is expected finished before this October.
As we know, Class I, Class II and Class III are for different hazardous classes, and different Division is for Area Classification. Class I is for the hazardous area with flammable gases while Class II is for combustible dusts and Class III for fibers and flyings.
“Division” means different hazardous area classifications, similar with the meaning of different “Zones” in IEC-Ex standard.
Division 1 equals to Zone 0 which means a hazardous place in which an explosive atmosphere is continually present and Zone 1 which means a hazardous place in which an explosive atmosphere is likely to occur in normal operation. Division 2 equals to Zone 2 in IEC-Ex which means a hazardous place in which an explosive atmosphere is not likely to occur in normal operation, but may occur for short periods.
In one word, Division 1 is for the hazard level of Continuos and Intermittent Hazard and Division 2 is for hazard level Under Abnormal Conditions.
There are big differences between the requirements from Division 1 and Division 2, especially for the mechanical structure design, the surface machining quality and the material application for the fixture housing.
NJZ team has worked for the CID1 led explosion proof lights for more than 1 year and we believe we will get great success basing on our efforts.
